Diamond In The Ruff

Written & Contributed By
Shannah M. Helman

You lived a life that no one should have to live
I gave to you all that I had to give
I showed you how to love and set you free
And I could see in your eyes how much you cared for me.

You were my diamond in the ruff
You were strong, you were brave, you were tough
And there was nothing that could come between the two of us
And I will always care, I will always love
My diamond in the ruff.

You were the one thing that I could always rely on
A strong and loving shoulder that I could cry on
And when we galloped together I felt so free
We would always have each other as far as I could see.

You were my diamond in the ruff
You were strong, you were brave, you were tough
And there was nothing that could come between the two of us
And I will always care, I will always love
My diamond in the ruff

I never thought that the day would ever come
When you and I could no longer be as one
I lost my soul, my friend the night you died
As up into the night your spirit flied

You were my diamond in the ruff
You were strong, you were brave, and you were tough
And even though you're gone I still feel your love
I really miss you, I really need you
You were my diamond in the ruff

My diamond in the ruff.
